afb receives ISO/IEC 27001 certification for highest security standards

Information security is of central strategic importance to afb.

Munich, 4 October 2017 – afb Application Services AG (afb), a leading provider of innovative software solutions for digital, integrated omni business models, has been successfully certified according to the ISO/IEC 27001 standard. The certificate officially confirms the security and quality of afb's operational processes.

The availability of IT systems and infrastructures as well as the handling of sensitive customer data are of fundamental importance in a world of converged services and fast transactions. Every company is dependent on a flexible and reliable infrastructure, maximum availability and security.

The infrastructure, based on Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), provided by afb is characterised by performance, efficiency, scalability and flexibility. afb Service Management monitors the availability, continuity, capacity and security of the systems and, in order to increase transparency and security, relies on recognised best practices, e.g. ISO/IEC 27001. This standard provides a structured approach for the continual improvement of information security at a high quality level.

Based on its audit, Infaz GmbH has confirmed the exceptionally high standards for data protection and information security at afb with the internationally recognized ISO/IEC 27001 certificate. afb customers can thus be assured that afb has established all necessary measures to protect their data, and that it regularly monitors and develops these measures. The certificate verifies that afb's operational processes meet the globally recognised security standard, e.g. with regard to identifying risks, improving resilience against cyber attacks or meeting compliance requirements.
